Fraudulent Activity

Example of fraudulent text and the number it was sent from

Fraudulent and scam emails and texts have risen in the past year dramatically. Bad actors are taking advantage of more people online more often. This fraud can look like an email from Rev. Lisa, a text, sometimes even a phone call. We are working with the diocese, the FTC, and local authorities to determine the root and methods of the attacks against St. Tim’s.

Here’s what you can do if you receive a suspicious email or text message:

  • Report this activity to the FTC
  • Send an email to rector@sttims.org
  • DO NOT respond to the message and do not carry out any of the activities the message suggests
  • Rev. Lisa will never ask you for money or gift certificates (other than your pledge 🙂 )

Thanks for staying vigilant and God bless!
