Holy Week 2023

Palm Sunday, April 2 – One service at 10:00 AM, beginning in the courtyard

Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week, and we have a single combined service starting at 10 AM. Meet in the courtyard so we can start the service with shouts of hosanna and the blessing of palm branches, before processing into the Nave. The service ends with a reading of the Passion and reflective quiet. Simple coffee hour following. The service will be streamed from the Nave once the procession has arrived. Download bulletin here.

There will be no Godly Play or Double Digits on Palm Sunday. Children are encouraged to participate in the single service. For younger children who might not make it through, the nursery (room 2 is available.

This Sunday leads us into the Triduum (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter — see below for schedule).

All are invited to join us on this spiritual journey.

Maundy Thursday, April 6 – 7:00 PM

On the night before he died, Jesus broke bread with his friends. We invite you to remember that evening in word and song and the dramatic stripping of the altar in preparation for Good Friday. The service will be streamed from the Nave.

Good Friday Gospel and Blues, April 7 – 7:00 PM

The service will be streamed from the Nave.

The Great Vigil of Easter, Saturday, April 8 – 8:00 PM

On Saturday evening,  join us for The Great Vigil of Easter. This service marks the movement from darkness to light as we celebrate the hope given to us by Christ’s empty tomb. We gather to light the New Fire, hear readings chronicling God’s saving deeds in history, and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter. We hope you will help us make a great noise at the first Alleluia of Easter by ringing bells at home.

Easter Morning, Sunday, April 9 – 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM

On Easter morning, we will hold an All Ages service in the Nave at 9:00 AM, followed by an Easter Egg hunt instead of Godly Play or Double Digits. The 10:30 AM service in the Nave will be livestreamed at sttims.org/services.  There will not be a 10:00 AM sermon today; attendees of the 9:00 AM service can watch the recording of the 10:30 AM sermon at sttims.org/services-archive.
