We are a non-academic program and support contextual learning through play and social interaction. Our daily activities are based on the children’s interests and developmental needs.
AGE REQUIREMENTS:
We are a mixed age classroom and accept children starting at age 2 years, 9 months up to 5 years. Once a child has turned 6 they are no longer eligible to be enrolled.
POTTY TRAINING:
If your child is still potty training we are happy to work with you and support your child at their pace and comfort level. We have abundant resources to help you and your child through this process.
NAPPING & EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM:
Children staying for our extended care program (1pm-3pm) will have the option of napping in a quiet room. Children who are no longer napping will continue open play options/activities.
MASKING:
Children are encouraged to wear masks indoors, but have the option to remove them for outdoor play. Teachers/staff are required to wear masks at all times. We have found this to be effective on reducing spread of germs and viruses and have not seen any significant impact on children’s social skills or language development.
CLEANING & SANITIZING:
Teachers clean and sanitize our classroom and materials at the end of each day and have completed Integrated Germ Management training to do so safely and effectively. A professional cleaning crew also arrives each day after we close to clean bathrooms, carpets and floors.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP ROUTINES:
We ask that parents do drop-off and pick-up outside the classroom at our sign-in station, as opposed to entering the classroom. We’ve seen an increase in children having an successful transition into the classroom each morning using this approach.
