Music and Multimedia

Music and Multimedia Ministries

Music and art not only give voice to the joy of celebration, they also quiet the heart as a prelude to prayer. They help us to think. They help us transcend thought. Our creative ministries express our praise. We have many ways to worship through music and art, inclusive of all age groups and abilities.

For questions about music or multimedia at St. Tim’s, please contact our Music Director, Peter Sammel.

Worship Bands

9:00 a.m. Family Worship

This band supports our 9:00 a.m. children’s celebration on Sunday mornings. A wide range in age contributes to musical leadership at this service. We’ve had children as young as 10 participate in this ensemble. The music helps children worship and is composed of bright, accessible songs everyone can sing. A full range of instruments encourages us to sing with joy.

11:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship

At the 11:00 a.m. service, we worship beyond the boundaries of any specific music genre or era; here you will find a wonderful blend of modern music and ancient rite. The songs we sing are drawn from a wide range of traditions including hymns and chants in contemporary settings, as well as gospel, rock, and popular Christian worship music. The ensemble is a full rock/gospel group with a rhythm section and 6 to 10 singers, but you might also hear our beautiful Schoenstein organ on occasion. We also have a festival choir that provides traditional anthems for holy days such as Christmas and Easter, as well as an instrumental ensemble playing chamber music, both secular and sacred, for special occasions and services.

Multimedia Ministries

Recording Studio and Multimedia

We are blessed with a high quality sound system and a digital recording system built (discreetly) into our Sanctuary. This facility enables us to record CDs of Praise Songs and original Alternative Christian Rock.

We also record the weekly sermons, posted on our website. Other benefits of the recording system include providing sound effects to accompany dramatic presentations, puppet shows, and special events.

We have a ministry team devoted to video and graphic production, and often have presentations to enhance services and events.

All of these teams are always looking for new members. Please contact Peter Sammel for more information.
