Covenant Groups
There are many covenant groups at St. Timothy's, including ones which are designed to meet the needs of parents of small children. [More about Covenant Groups]
Tuesday Morning Covenant Group - This covenant group meets from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the library at church; childcare is provided by very experienced caregivers in the nursery. Also, because we have infants and young children, interruptions are expected. We all understand that some days are better than others. We are a faithful group that can listen and lend support to fears and frustrations as well as celebrate joys and milestones. We welcome "first-timers" to the covenant community.
Counseling and Support
Stephen Ministry is about caring. This program equips and deploys parishioners to help others in a one-on-one relationship in a time of crisis. Because people feel particularly vulnerable during a crisis, confidentiality in the care giving relationship is strictly enforced. [More about Stephen Ministry]
Nursery: The Ark
Loving caregivers play with and supervise the youngest parishioners (generally under 3 years old) during the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services, and during other parish events. The nursery, which is off the main courtyard in rooms 6 & 7, is equipped with toys and is adjacent to a playground, where children can play during nice weather. Parents are expected to sign their children in and out and take a pager in case they need to be reached. [More about the Ark]
Parish Dinners
Are you overwhelmed sometimes by the thought of planning another meal? Tired of doing dishes? Then the Parish Dinner is for you. Not only do you get a fantastic meal (plus dessert!) you also get some relief and adult time. Even if you are a solo parent for the evening, please come to the dinner.
Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. Young children are served early, beginning at 5:45 p.m., and there is always special "kid food" for them, such as chicken fingers, corn dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, or other familiar meals. If nothing else looks appealing, there is always peanut butter and jelly available. There are many people to help you look after your child(ren) or assist in getting food - all you have to do is ask for help! There is a cost of $7 per adult and $4 per child with a maximum of $25 per family. It's worth it!
The Stork
The Stork offers short-term support to families with newborns or who may be dealing with crisis (e.g., hospitalization of a parent or child, problems during pregnancy or after childbirth, postpartum depression). A network of volunteers is available to provide meals, free baby-sitting, help with transportation to and from church, and emotional support.
Godly Play
Children from three years old through their teen years are invited to participate in the Sunday School program, which takes place immediately after the 9:00 a.m. service in the classrooms off the courtyard. The church uses a curriculum called Godly Play. [More about Godly Play]
