The Ark Childcare at St. Timothy's
Childcare for children up to five years of age is provided in the parish nursery, called the Ark, during worship services, classes, covenant groups, and other events.
The Ark offers a safe place for children to play, with a consistent staff. An onsite paging system provides peace of mind for parents, who can be summoned to the nursery if needed.
The Ark's play spaces include a train table, a pretend kitchen, dress up clothes, and cushions for resting and looking at books. The quiet area for babies has sleeping spaces, as well as rocking chairs and age-appropriate toys. The well-equipped playground adjacent to the nursery is often used when weather and daylight permit.
Administration of the Ark is aided by the Children's Guild, a group of committed parents who help maintain the space. Both Ark rooms were repainted in August 2004 and given fanciful murals and new furniture.
Parents using the Ark are asked to familiarize themselves with the Parent Handbook, which covers policies and procedures. Copies are available in the Ark, or it can be downloaded here.
