Join a new parent discussion group, Putting Families First.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan 5th, parents are invited to meet to discuss issues and support each other in their choices. Discuss parenting amid the pressures of Silicon Valley, making time to hang out with your kids, creating family traditions, and strengthening family ties. We will discuss how to consciously choose where to spend our time and how to create time for our families in the performance-oriented Silicon Valley world of work, commuting, kids' enrichment classes, and other pressures.
The discussion will be based on the book Putting Family First: Successful Strategies for Reclaiming Family Life in a Hurry-Up World by William J. Doherty, Ph.D. and Barbara Z. Carlson. While it'll be helpful to read the book first, we are all busy. Come to learn and discuss, even if all you have read is the book flap or the description on amazon.com.
The group will meet on the first Wednesday of the month, during the parish dinner, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring their dinner to the Guild room to join in the discussion.
Childcare will be provided in the nursery. The kitchen starts serving the kid's entree at 5:45 p.m., so you can feed them before they go to
the nursery.
