Connecting with Our Children
It is a gift to be a parent, and also hard work. We want our children to have advantages and opportunities beyond what we've experienced. We want to give them a capacity to build healthy lives and relationships beyond their time with us. What principles can we learn to guide us to better parenting?
This new parenting class taught by the rector, will show you new ways of thinking about your role as a parent, and give you tools to improve relationships with your children. Using the book Connecting With Our Children : Guiding Principles for Parents in a Troubled World by Dr. Roberta Gilbert, we'll explore how to build the connections found in healthy relationships.
Although the book is geared towards parents with children at home, parents with grown children will also find principles and ideas that are helpful.
Two sessions will be offered, meeting four weeks, January 17 through February 7:
| Wednesday mornings | 10:00-11:30 a.m. |
| Wednesday evenings | 7:00-8:30 p.m. |
All classes will be held in the Guild room, and childcare is available in the nursery. Everyone is invited.
