If St. Timothy's were a sitcom (it's not?), I'd be the wisecracking church secretary. I haven't decided who would play me yet.

My desk is usually awash in papers, tacky Jesus toys, windup monkeys, the lamp I made from religious filmstrips, a wonderfully hideous Resurrection waterglobe, and my latest knitting project, because belonging to St. Tim's means there will always be someone to come by and help you figure out a stitch.

I used to be a silicon valley web designer, at a company which flamed out rather spectacularly. I enjoy working on sttims.org, and appreciate the indulgence of everyone when, for example, I suddenly decided that we needed to podcast our sermons. I'm also responsible for the Word Weekly, the weekly parish announcements email, keeping the computers running, and any number of things which come up minute to minute.

On the days when the plumbing goes south and I'm wielding a plunger for Jesus, I really wonder what happened to me. Most of the time, though, it's the best job I've ever had. I love the people at St. Tim's, and they love me, despite my total inability to file anything, ever. God is alive here, but that doesn't make us perfect. It's a come-as-the-mess-you-are kind of place.
